Tomorrow is Earth Day, so get close to nature this weekend.  If you're not in the mood for the Earth Day Picnic at the Botannical Gardens, try Graze, the new restaurant in Rochester Park.

With a name like Graze, this new restaurant's menu might only list types of grass but hopefully that's not true as the setting seems irresistible: An old colonial home surrounded by lots of lawn.  Graze is an offspring of OPIA in Hong Kong, winner of the South China Morning Post's "Restaurant of the Year Award" last year . Its owners want to encourage us to eat slowly, ordering small plates throughout a long, relaxed meal. King prawns, chocolate pudding lava cake... with a bar upstairs and a shop, (not to mention rumours of an outdoor movie screen) it sounds like we could hang around there all day.

Call 6775-9000 to make a reservation.

Spend Saturday evening at the Substation learning about "The Plight of the Asian Elephant".  There's also an "eco-friendly" car wash available for $8 (we're wondering if it's going to be done by elephants).

The talk starts at 7:30pm and is free, though donations are welcome.  Turn up beforehand for refreshments, and see what the carwash is all about.

Send an email to grant@singapore.com to confirm your attendance.
